Why does it stick out?

Hi everyone, I've been exercising and toning my body slowly for around two months now but I always seem to have a tummy that sticks out and makes me look a bit pregnant so some clothes look a bit odd on me. I'm just wondering what the problem might be and what I can do about it? I don't think it's water as I always make sure to get my 8 classes or more, depending on how much I exercise each day.

You look like you are at a decent weight - I wouldn't worry about trying to lose anymore fat. In the first picture, it almost looks like your posture is making your tummy stick out. Try pulling your tummy in and pushing your shoulders forward a little bit? I'm not sure, but honestly it doesn't look like something I would notice at all if you didn't point it out.0

I feel like the above poster may be at leat partially right. I have trouble with mine, I know I am really a small size (wear 2-4-6 in clothes, waist at 28 inches, which was my goal initialy) but I never feel happy because my stomach sticks out. I also have a very deep curve in my lower back, and I wonder if that is why we feel like our belllies are sticking out? You are very small and look great to me! :flowerforyou:0

aw thanks guys that's really reassuring And I do agree with you emilyempowere, the curve in my lower back probably doesn't help but I guess that's just the way my back decided to form! It is annoying because I know that I am at a good weight but like you I feel unhappy which is silly really.
I probably should have taken a picture of me sitting down from the side actually it's a lot more noticeable then. Thanks for the responses0 -
Not sure if a guy's perspective matters or not but you look great to me. I wouldn't worry about that "bump". I'd say it makes your tummy look cute too.0

oh thanks! That's definitely helpful0

I have no qualification to diagnose anything, but it could be slight anterior pelvic tilt (apt). You can look into it to see how to correct it. Doing so can reduce the push out of the stomach.0

Definitely agree that your pelvis has tilted. That's what mine used to look like. I went to an Osteopath and after about 3 or 4 treatments she had my posture fixed, and the curve in my spine (like yours) is now nearly un-noticeable because my pelvis no longer tilts. Worth checking into! Once it sits right, the tummy that you are worried about will be flatter as it's not curved out.0

I also have the tummy problem when I am not 100% gluten free! I get a belly bulge after each meal without any weight gain. When I finally commited to going gluten free, the belly bloat dissapeared!0
