To recognize how great apps like MFP are - how convenient and easy they make it to track food, whether for weight loss, weight gain, bodybuilding, whatever. Apps like this are making a difference, making it easier to learn about nutrition, and making a healthy eating lifestyle much more accessible to the general public. They also make it easy to be flexible in foods while eating for a calorie goal.

The people who did this before things like MFP existed also deserve a shout out...those women who figured out 1600 calories on paper every day, the bodybuilders who did the math for a 2500 cal cutting diet and proceeded to force feed themselves egg whites, chicken, rice, and broccoli for 4 months contest prep.

I'm just feeling really appreciative of this app the last few days, thinking about how much harder cutting 80lbs would be if all I had was nutrition labels, a scale, and a pen and paper..
