WAY under calories for the day, but not hungry

So I still have about 600-800 calories that I'm SUPPOSED to eat today.
However, it's now 10pm - I should be looking at going to bed right now; also, I'm not hungry.
What do you guys do in situations like this?

This was me last week. Three days I barely ate, but I made it all up by the end of the week.
As long as it isn't a typical occurrence and you get the calories in during the week, that's really what matters.
Maybe go over by 600 tomorrow and enjoy something you don't usually have the calories for.0 -
I wish I had this problem :ohwell:0

Had me one of these days just the other day. I was busy busy busy, ate lunch ate dinner but still had 800ish left at bed time but I was tired and not hungry. I just went to bed, woke up the next morning super hungry so I had a big breakfast. So long as it's not something you are doing daily or intentionally it shouldn't be an issue. Life happens.0

I like this advice, but my problem is that if I eat over... I eat WAY over. And I have a hard time eating a lot of HEALTHY foods.. So for me a day of eating a lot would end up being like.. Pizza & cake or something. Sounds a bit counterproductive to me!
But I will see what I can do about pigging out (safely) tomorrow0 -
600 to 800 you can enjoy a burger tomorrow along with your day to day things or anything you like have chocolate, have some drink, you want to eat cake right so you can have a pastry or small piece of cake or pizza or nuts(they are having lots of calories).. and if you dont want to eat anything then just leave it and move on0

I'm glad you asked about this. I have this problem on a daily basis. I'm vegan and eat primarily a raw food diet of produce, tofu and nuts because of health issues related to animal cholesterol. The only way I've found to add a substantial number of healthy calories is to fix a salad and drizzle olive oil on top to go with the red wine vinegar I normally dress it with, or when I eat a sliced raw tomato, I drizzle EVOO on it as well. Otherwise, I'm snacking all day and still coming up at just 600-800 calories.
Personally, if I fall short, I'm not going to stack the shortage onto the next day's minimum. That's the same thought process as saying I'll eat a 1000 calorie pizza today and starve myself tomorrow. I just do what I can to get as close to that number each day on its own.0 -
I generally have between 500 and 1000 calories remaining on a given day. That's with me making sure I eat at least 2100 calories per day ( I work out 6 days per week). Unless I go all out on fast food or something, I just can't eat enough to reach 3000 calories.0

You are so lucky!! I'll take a calorie deficit any day. One thing I find sometimes we eat more cals than we count up. Just enjoy this because cravings will come eventually.0

I have days like these. Some days you'll be not very hungry and easily hit a large deficit, others your hunger will skyrocket.
It's fine if it's once in a while. Tomorrow's a new day!0 -

some days you're really not hungry. most likely hormones. other days you're more hungry. if it's not every day it's not going to kill you or mess you up to just go to bed. Listen to your body.0

Some days I just don't have an appetite & under the calories0

I've had a day or two where, thanks to having a lot of physical labor to do around the house, I was 500-1500 calories under and wasn't hungry.
Your body doesn't reset every 24 hours; use the calorie underage and spread it across the rest of the next few days.0 -
This came from the Caloriecount website. I thought a lot of people would find his last paragraph interesting, if not an intriguing alternative to the set number day after day:
"Yes, calorie counting does work like that. In the long-run, counting every calorie and trying to hit a specific number or range every single day for the rest of your life is not realistic for most people.
I'll use myself as an example. I've maintained a low-healthy weight for many years. I am VERY physically active, so I usually aim to eat around 3000 calories per day. However, I do not log or track my calories. I have a good enough knowledge of nutrition to be able to estimate about how much I've eaten on a given day. There are some days I'm not very hungry, and eat around 1500 calories. There are other days when my appetite is ravenous and I'll eat 4000 calories. At this point, I don't try to balance out my calories because my body does so naturally. Sometimes my body needs more food - so I eat. Sometimes my body is content, so I eat less. Over the course of a week however, my averaged daily intake is usually around 3000 calories.
The point here is that what you eat/do (exercise) in ONE specific period of time does not make or break you. It's how you do overall as a trend. Unlike CC which resets every day back to 0, the human body does not work like that. It's more of a continually-working machine or system. If you have a calorie limit of say 1500 calories per day, it's perfectly fine to eat 1300 on even days and 1700 on odd days. Your body will treat it about the same as if you were eating 1500 every day."0
