I try new foods but I don’t like them. Idk what to do. I mainly just eat bread and cheese.

Hmm, I am not generally picky. I like all vegetables and fruits and most type of cuisine including Indian, Thai, Mexican, cuban, meditteranean, Italian, Ethiopian, etc. I will try new things often.

I am picky about some things. I can only drink OJ that has been freshly squeezed. I will only eat backyard tomatoes. I only eat grass fed beef, wild salmon, and free range chicken. I wont eat any weird meats like reptile, rodent, or any carnivorous animal.

No. That's my biggest problem. I eat everything, even if I don't particularly like it. But I also eat things I really shouldn't, like raw bacon that fell on the floor. Can't freeze it because it's been on the floor, can't cook it because it's been on the floor and will taint the other bacon (okay, that's not really valid), but can't throw it away because it's bacon!!

I am not picky enough about food for it to matter. There are foods I don't want to eat but I like a large variety of foods. I would have a hard time if I was moving somewhere where most meals were seafood based or if I had to eat eggs a lot.

Have you always been so extreme or is it new? If all you eat is cheese and bread have you explored with your doctor if there is some cause for your dislike of other foods?
Maybe keep a journal about foods you try and note the things that bother you like flavor, texture, how it was prepared, temperature, physical symptoms during or after consumption, or anxiety about eating.

I eat to live rather than live to eat. Once I find things that I like, I stick with it.

I cannot do olives. At all. And don't ask me to pick them out of my food or eat around them

    Olives. Yum.

Yes I'm a picky eater and I can't help it.

I bring my own food with me if I'm invited to someone's home to eat. Which is probably why I don't get many of these invitations.

Mayo, all salad dressing other than clear Italian, all cheese, butter, sour cream, Alfredo sauce, yogurt, and any food that contains these gag worthy ingredients will not cross my lips.

Except Little Cesar's Meat pizza. That's ok.

Also I won't eat fresh ginger, mushrooms, yams, sweet potato, water chestnuts, pea pods, bean sprouts, baby corn, cooked onion unless it's minced or completely carmelized, Romain lettuce unless the stems are cut out, parsnips, sourdough bread, jalapenos, kiwi, cilantro or anything containing curry.

It doesn't go away and it's a lifelong thing. Even the spankings couldn't put a dent in it.

Not a picky eater, although I do draw the line with sea pineapples plus plus They're gross and pungent. Some coconut products (process) are just a no can swallow.

I do try to be considerate when I am with people who are picky or have food allergies. I will not consume those foods when I am within their lines of sight, or if I am in a relationship with a man who is finicky - complete abstinence.

I did that with Bongo, fresh lychees or mandarins (island mandarins are like cuties only green before they're peeled). I find girls do that more than boys.

    Ever the doting uncle. 🙌

That is a long list of foods you absolutely will NOT fathom.

The first time I prepped Romain lettuce, and chopped off the ends, it bled milky substance. My reaction, "I don't think this is meant to be eaten." Lol. Sense memory is a buzz kill when attempting to eat it raw ... I literally char it on the grill to block out the milky bleed.

Love you too ! I am one who'd rather KNOW going into a friendship or relationship IF anyone in my company has issues with food.

There are a few foods I cannot stand, But fact is that makes up less than 1% of foods I have run across. The other 99% I am willing to try and of that about 80% that I really like. And some that are my constant go to always on the grocery list like black olives yum.

My top two that absolutely make my stomach turn cornbeef in any form and same with green beans.

Not me, except for the vegetarian aspect which is more lifestyle than pickiness, but my sister's best friend growing had very interesting eating habits that are similar to the OP's. She happened to be the younger sister of one of MY best friends, so there were many instances in which we all ate together. She didn't seem to have a problem eating at restaurants, but she often only ate bowtie pasta with no sauce-- just butter and salt, Ritz crackers, and cookie crisp cereal. She would bring her own food whenever she came over to spend the night. After she graduated high school she studied abroad in Spain and seemed to grow out of it.

To piggyback on the subject of food allergies/intolerances and digestive disorders, my brother in law can't eat dairy or gluten or he will literally bleed from you-know-where, and my mom finally just learned/accepted the fact that dairy is the cause of her lifelong digestive distress. Unfortunately for her, dairy was a large part of her diet before this so she not only always had an upset stomach, but now she has to find alternatives for most of her favorite foods. I also work with someone who has gastroparesis and has to eat (drink) a mostly liquid diet, someone with nut allergies, and someone allergic to apples, so our office is a very allergy-friendly place when it comes to holidays and birthday parties.

    Oooch! That's right.

You might have to opt for doughnuts. 😕 On your fingers, those are the only things that would fit. Or pineapples. Dried shrinks, so that will not work, too snug.

I can be super picky, but in a hypocritical way.
Like the thought of certain foods grosses me out and I try to avoid them, but at the same time I want them, and sometimes do eat them.
I tend to eat the same things day in and out untill I move on to the next thing that I will eat routinely for a while.

I feel deprived if I don't eat potatoes in some form daily

    Yaaaaaaaaas potatoes 🥔🍠❤️

I do the same thing with going through cycles or "phases" of eating certain foods. I enjoy routines and a certain amount of predictability with my meals and eating habits, but also try to include some variety here and there.

I try new foods when I can, but if the smell makes me gag then I know I won’t like it. I eat really bland foods: such as grilled cheese, plain pasta, macaroni, etc. I hate that I am like this, but I really can’t help it. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate it.
