Hi All,
I'm trying the FitBit weight loss 7 day challenge and was simply wondering if anyone else had done it and results?
Today is the first day. I prepped everything over the weekend mostly for the week ahead. Excited!

I think you'll certainly see some results from changing your diet as they suggest for 7 days.
What I think is equally or more important is the end of the linked article where it recommends finding out what your daily requirements are so that you can establish a similar plan that can be followed more or less easily for the rest of your life.
For me personally, logging every single bite I plan to eat, before I eat it, is what has worked for me to stay on track with my calorie and macronutrient goals.
Of all the different weight loss plans that can be found, the one that is guaranteed to work is the one that you stick with.
good luck to you and good fitness to us all!1 -

In general, there is really no way to determine "results" from something as short as a 7 day program. Your body doesn't react immediately and exactly to what you do, so if you lost a lb when you step on the scale on Friday, there is no way to know whether the work that caused that 1 lb lost happened on Thursday or Wednesday or a week ago. Weight loss is about averaging your effort to your weight loss over weeks and months.
I would not do that plan because 1200-1400 cals is simply too darn low for me and I would be starving. If those calorie goals are appropriate for you and you like to get some guidance on food/meal choices, that's great! But if those calorie levels are too low for you, watch out that eating so little all week doesn't set you up to eat too much next week in response (that's what would happen to me ).
I tend to naturally rebel against meal plans, I'm just a stubborn contrarian. But if you think something like this will help you get your head in the game and ready for the long haul, best of luck!0 -
Thanks. So far you are right, I'm STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'll stop and just try my best to not eat nearly as much sugar (a LOT of chocolate daily) as I do now and stop eating after dinner time and see what happens. I just can't believe the weight I've put on since spring.0

I can't say enough about how useful a digital scale has been for helping me to "try my best to not eat nearly as much [anything i want to eat less of]".
eyeballs are unreliable measuring devices.
figure out ahead of time how much chocolate your meal planning will allow, while keeping to your overall nutrition targets. then use the scale to make sure you don't over-treat yourself to the allowed chocolate portion each day.
good luck to you.2 -

In addition to seconding the food scale recommendation, check out the Most Helpful Posts threads pinned to the top of each forum. There's lots of good info and advice in there, hopefully it will help get you moving in the right direction. Good luck!1
