Looking for Intermittent Fasting Success Stories

Hi all. I have been using myfitnesspal for years, but new to the forums save for a couple of posts I made years ago. So I am a bit of a newbie to forums. The reason I am here now is because I have started intermittent fasting (IF) using the 16:8 ratio in the hopes that I will be able to curb my appetite. I find since I hit my 40s my appetite is never ending and no matter what my mindset is at the start of the day, by the end of the day my hunger takes over my brain. I have read about some research that says intermittent fasting, if you can stick with it, can help curb your appetite. Has anyone experienced this? How long did it take you before you started noticing your appetite was diminished?
This is day 2 of IF for me. So far it has been difficult, but not as difficult as I thought it would be. Hoping I can stick with it for a few weeks at least. Tips/advice appriceated!

So I am 37 and also mostly new to MFP. I have been doing IF since I signed up for Bikini Body by Jen Ferrugia in April. She suggests more like 14:10 and weight lifting. I have since relaxed on my diet restrictions and increase the fasting to 16:8. It's gotten easier to have just black coffee for breakfast, a healthy lunch at noon and a satisfying dinner after the gym around 6-7pm. This allows time to have a dessert of berries or something before you are cut off for the night. Green tea (steeped for 3-5 mins) and water in the evenings. Works for me, I went from a flabby 160 lbs, lost 10 lbs and gained lots of muscle, toned and strong. Good luck!2

IF did help me in a specific way to control my hunger. I finally realized that eating breakfast in the morning was making me ravenously hungry all day long. Once I stopped eating in the morning and started my eating in the afternoon, my hunger quickly came under control and it became much easier for me to stay within my calorie goal.
But if eating breakfast didn't effect me that way, I would keep a regular eating schedule. IF is only an eating schedule. There is nothing particularly special about it.4
