3 week goal question

I have a 3 week goal to lean out. I am not trying to lose weight per se but to reveal the muscles that I do have. I cut my calories to 1200 and upped my protein within that calorie amount. I work out 5 days a week doing weights and kick boxing.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you.

What do you mean by "lean out"? If you are looking for a visual difference in 3 weeks, there's really no specific way to make that happen, that's just not a lot of time. People who are at a healthy weight can spend months and even years leaning out.
What specifically do you want to see? What is your current height and weight? It might help you get better recommendations, if what you are hoping for is possible.9 -
Recomp takes way longer than 3 weeks.
I mean, you could probably just dehydrate yourself for 3 weeks to look leaner, but it's really not safe and it's not permanent.

I have abs, I know I do, under a thin layer. Just trying to see them. Thought 3 weeks would be a good goal for that.
I am 5'4" and 130 lbs right now. Trying to drop maybe a few in 3 weeks.1 -
Just wanted to see if there were any suggestions

I'm 5'4 and it took me a year to get from 135 to 125. If you have a vacation coming up, honestly I wouldn't eat at too much of a deficit or you could end up fatigued for your occasion and not even see a difference. You could try to eat a bit lower carb in the last couple of weeks to see if you can drop a little water weight/bloat. But any change to the number on the scale will be small and probably not visible. Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer!7 -

If you want to lose a little bit of weight, you'll need a reasonable calorie deficit. Is 1,200 reasonable for you? Do you know how many calories you need to maintain?3 -

Yeah.....it takes longer than 3 weeks....
What’s the rush? You can’t rush anything, especially naturally. You can either starve yourself and lose muscle, fat, and water weight and look and feel like shyt, or you can run an optimal/ effective/ proper cut while maintaining as much muscle as possible...but it’s your choice! But 3 weeks...umm maybe you should have asked this question 3-5 weeks ago and given yourself more time8 -
You're not going to do much in 3 weeks8

As mentioned, 3 weeks is not a lot of time. If you are leaner and have a good muscle base losing a few lbs could make a difference, but if you are planning to stay the same weight keep in mind recomp can take months, years.
Just keep at it and plan on working at it for longer than that. Keep protein higher, follow a good lifting program.2 -

In three weeks, with that little to lose, you'd *maybe* drop 1.5 pounds -- presuming that you have a "safe" loss of half a pound per week. 1.5 pounds isn't going to do anything beyond look like a scale fluctuation.1 -
You can start 12 weeks ago.9

If I was running a 3 week experiment to see if I could reveal my abs without looking to lose weight per se, I would eat my regular cal intake, inc exercise cals, and drop to lower carb. It would give me a water weight loss.
It would kill me, but I probably wouldn't feel as bad at the end of the 3weeks as I would if I ate a straight 1200 cals. That would leave me so lethargic it would take at least another 3 weeks to recover once eating at my regular intake.
Cheers, h.7 -
3 weeks is definitely not long enough. Just start with a reasonable calorie deficit and see where you are in a couple of months.1
