I have a torn tendon and torn cuff, the part where your thumb meets your wrist, on my right arm. It's been like this for three years after I lifted my handbag wrong and snapped the whole lot.
I've had 3 cortisone injections, and once was at the point where I couldn't even move my fingers it hurt so much. I am awaiting surgery.
I used to jog, however the impact caused me too much pain and my bones in my arm felt like they were shuddering every step.
I cannot use my hand for more than 5 minutes, sometimes less. I can't grip things or lift heavy objects.
I've tried jogging again, this time on a mini trampoline. However, I still get that shuddering feeling after a short while.
I've recently started using an elliptical trainer too, keeping my arms still as much as I can and holding the front instead of the arms.
I miss exercise. I used to jog/run an hour a day. Since my injury I've hardly been able to do anything, even with the injections and pain killers.
Aside from swimming, which I can't do, what can I do?!

I was going to say the eliptical but you already said it. Own that thing it should work you wonders. You could just walk as well. Also, do a lot of body weight squats. You could probably do a lot of core work as well. Don't let an injury become an excuse!!!
I have a neck injury, i get it. Just do not be lazy. Push yourself at whatever you are capable od doing. Find things you can do and do them.0 -
Im the squat queen at the moment! It was at the start. But I've managed to work with it for a while now.0

Stationary bike or elliptical for cardio, for strength, honestly not too much you can do with only one hand.0

Have you tried kinesio tape? It helps keep parts stabilized without constricting them. I use it for my knee during dance classes and it's been great!0

How do you jog on a trampoline?0

Keep up the squats. Big deal for you. Consider buying a weighted vest.0 -
I'll have a look for a squat vest!
Jogging on the trampoline is hard. Probably one of the hardest workouts ever. It's like hopping from one foot to the next but keeping balance at the same time. Good for core.0
