I’ve used the app a while now but never looked at the community section, looks like I’ve missed out!
Hopefully I can get motivation and encouragement... and the odd kick up the bum :D

    Welcome!

Here are a couple of links that I think you’ll find very helpful:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1
    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These are two of the most commonly-referenced threads on MFP; tons of people point to them as being sources of great info when you're just starting out.

For more friends check out these threads, which are fairly popular:

Hope you find much to interest you in the community section. I used MFP a few years back, successfully but I did not do much in the friends / community arena. I grew weary of the tediousness of calorie counting / measuring / logging. This time around I seem to gain support by being more active and getting / giving support. Have a great day.

I have been using this app faithfully for the last 3 weeks. Have to lose 50 lbs and have lost 6 so far. Working out at the gym with a personal trainer twice a week and cardio 3 times a week. Just finding it hard to eat so many calories. My personal trainer set up my MFP for amount of protein, carbs and fat and having a hard time eating so much!

    Hi and thank you!
I use the UA record app to log my workouts mainly, I’ve always just used this to add up my calories. I’m always needing motivation so that’s great thanks

    Great job on the 6lb!!!
    I’ve lost over 40lbs in 8 months
I totally get the calorie thing, that’s always an issue with me, I used to have one meal a day so making sure I’m eat no properly has been hard, I’m often looking in the fridge like “I still have more calories to eat before it’ll log”
