Fitbit "active minutes" question

Hi,

I got a fitbit one a few weeks ago and I love it. I have a pretty active job, so was interested in seeing how much walking etc I did some days.
I am pretty active outside of work as well-I bike, go to the gym and walk a lot of places.
My question is-this morning I biked to the gym and back (18 mins total) then did 10minutes rowing, and an hours body pump class. I can understand it not picking up the bodypump, but it only says I have had 19 very active minutes today! I have it on the waistband of my gym trousers-which is obviously quite high up-is it just not picking up my activity? Should I clip it somewhere else? Or is it because I have those activities tracked through MFP and endomondo?
I'm not *that* bothered, as the calories etc will be fine, but I like to have LOTS of very active minutes on my days off to make for days when all I am doing is walking back and forth from consult rooms and lifting dogs!
Thanks :)

It is not going to pick up Biking or rowing just walking running.
