Need a bit of motivation today

First time poster on the boards mainly because I just realized they were here in the last couple of days!
I re-started my health and weightloss goals about a month ago and I did it with full focus and prepared to go all in and make some tough choices (like saying no to all the Halloween candy and extra desserts this time of year!). So far I have officially lost 10 lbs. I have been pretty happy with how I have been feeling and the rate I am losing. However today I hit one of those weird hurdles we all hit at some point-- 1 is the voice in your head trying to tell you that things arent any different than a month ago (even though your clothes are fitting better and you have seen the scale move). and 2- I am ravenously hungry today. I have been making healthy choices all day in regards to eating but I am still hungry! I have a little over 550 cals left for an afternoon snack and dinner, which is normally v. doable but I am just hitting that I am starving even though I am eating things that normally fill me.
I know its one day and tomorrow will be different and I won't be the starving beast that is trying to eat all the fridges of food, but I could just use some positive motivation and support to hold strong and not be eating all the Halloween candy in the bathroom out of the prying eyes of my children who want to know where their candy went.
I have been doing so well and want to keep moving forward and hit my goals. Just need to get through today.

I felt the same way yesterday. Anything in my path was at risk of being eaten! Then for some reason it set off doubt that I can lose any more weight, and all kinds of negative thoughts that were not even justified.
Losing 10 pounds is great! Be proud of that. When I am tempted by candy or sweets or something else, I picture myself waking up tomorrow and thinking back on my decisions from today: do I want to feel happy that I made good choices, or do I want that sinking feeling of disappointment, knowing I consumed a million calories worth of candy?
If you need to eat more today, just make sure it is good, healthy food that your body can use, not empty sugar calories. Can you add on some activity to make up for some extra calories?2 -
You don't need motivation you need discipline!
You need to parent yourself in a way, in the same way you've took the candy off the kids.. Why have you done that? Well because they'll eat the whole lot in one go! So it's down to you to tell them no and have *this much*.
You got to do that to yourself.
So yes you feel ravenous, but tomorrow will be different.
My advice is drink lots of water.
Literally go and drink 2 full cups straightaway.
Still hungry? Drink more.
I think the most I've had to drink in one go to stop the hunger was 3.
I felt a bit sloshy after but I felt full.
Good luck! Get through today you can do this!1 -
It has passed. I am not quite sure why I had the hunger pit the majority of the day, but around 3 it went away. Here's to powering through the next round.1
