Fastest and healthiest way to lose 30lbs?

I have roughly 30lbs to go. Should I eat below my TDEE or should I eat at my TDEE and lift heavy? I'm already lifting 3X a week but eating at a deficit. Is this a wrong thing to do??? I want to build muscle and burn fat but I'm told I can't do both at the same time.


HELP! What should I do first? I don't want to stop working out!

  • How many calories a day are you eating and how much do you burn? It works well to eat between 1200-1500 calories/day, and work out 4-6 times a week. I try to make 3 days cardio days, because those are pure calorie burn days. I have melted off fat and built lots of beautiful lean muscle in the last year, losing a total of 45 lbs. I use Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper strength training DVDs, and run the other days, successfully torching pounds of fat while building energy burning lean muscle. Hope this helps! :)

    Yikes..I need to increase my calories then! I probably net roughly 1,000 calories a day. Thanks so much for the tips!
  • Definitely never eat less than 1200 calories/day consistently. Nutritionists say this sends your body into starvation mode, causing your body to break down muscle for energy rather than blasting fat.
