Best breakfast ideas to kick start your motab?

There's no such thing as "kick starting" your metabolism. That's another diet industry myth. Your metabolism works 24 hours a day - if it didn't, you'd be dead and wouldn't have to worry about what to eat for breakfast.
Eat whatever you want, whenever you want, within the framework of a reasonably balanced, nutritious diet.10 -
If your metabolism wasn’t kickstarted you’d be dead.....
Meals to boost metabolism is a myth....
But anything you like within your macro allotment I guess to answer your question.5 -
i keep to 2 fried eggs, 5 bean baked beans and wholegrain toast with some tomato on a side. Nothing fancy. but better that oats with fruit fillingwise. i have no time to cook and i hate cooking. so its the best i can do at the minute.

Skip breakfast and fast, you don't need breakfast.

Watch this guy's videos, he explains it all, and has the body to prove it:

Yesterday I fasted for 19 hours. Went to a buffet and ate nearly all of my calories in one meal, it was awesome, felt like I was eating like a king. Jumped on the scale this morning and indeed, I lost weight. I could get used to doing IF
Not at all anything that I would be interested in/willing to do. IF is fine for me in terms of skipping breakfast but aside from that, there is nothing in there that would work for me.3 -
You might try a coffee with an energy bar.2

^ As I say to so many of Anvil's posts....yep.3 -

When you IF, you also keep insulin levels in check. Every time you eat, you spike insulin which tells your body to store fat. I'm still new to it, but am seeing good results already after just a short period of time.
If you're in a calorie deficit, you're not going to store anything as fat.9 -
Beer - the breakfast of champions.
(That was the slogan on one of my favourite workout T-shirts.)2 -

Then why, for the last 50 years or so, have bodybuilders eaten 6 meals a day? How could they possibly achieve such low body fat levels? I wonder how Fung and his woo-peddling minions would answer that.
You’re seeing results because you’re consuming less calories than you expend, which is how one loses weight. No matter what time or how often you eat.8 -

Don't know, it's not for everyone, but I'm really enjoying it. I don't like eating 5 or 6 small meals. I'd rather have one or two big enjoyable meals towards the end of the day.

Now that's a good reason for you to do it.
"When you IF, you also keep insulin levels in check. Every time you eat, you spike insulin which tells your body to store fat" this is just twaddle.
Can you explain how you can have a net storage of fat in a calorie deficit?
Every time you eat your insulin is supposed to rise (why do people say spike?) - it's normal and a good thing.10 -

I don't like 5-6 small meals either. The choices are not 5-6 small meals or IF.
(Nothing wrong with IF, but I like breakfast and couldn't possibly get my preferred amount of protein or veg in in one huge meal. I can do two meals but don't see any particular benefit and enjoy breakfast.)4 -

I normally delay breakfast until quite late, but this past week, I've been hungry earlier than usual, so I ate.
There's been no difference in my weight.
For the OP, kickstarting metabolism isn't a thing. If you enjoy eating breakfast, you can eat anything you'd like that you find filling.
This week, I've just been eating protein bars with a cup of tea. I'm hungry, but only want something light.3 -

Speak for yourself. I’d vomit and/or pass out by 9 am if I didn’t eat at least a small breakfast every day.
OP, it’s really up to you to find out what works best for you in the morning. I personally do best with a combination of protein and carbohydrates, with relatively low fat, first thing in the morning. That usually means either an egg white omlet with toast or non-fat Greek yogurt with granola, depending on whether I have time to cook that day.

No, it doesn't "tell" your body to store fat; it enables sugar to get into your cells. Which is far preferable from starving to death no matter how much you eat because none of the energy can get into your cells, or cardiovascular, nervous system, and organ damage from chronic elevated blood sugar. Insulin is not the bad guy.8 -
I usually eat non-fat yogurt or a protein smoothie for breakfast. It keeps me satisfied until lunch for the most part. Occasionally I’ll get the munchies and snack on a few carrots or apple slices before lunch. Listen to your body and don’t starve yourself.1

There's nothing wrong with eating 6 meals a day, perfectly fine to lose weight that way. IF is also another tool to assist in losing weight. Part of it is in establishing the correct behavior for supporting your weight loss.
Dr. John Berardi actually did a pretty good review of IF a while back, it's worth Googling for the read.0
