Definitely NSV but the scale has only moved 5 pounds

So I know you're not supposed to worry too much about what the number on the scale says.
With that in mind, I am very happy to report that after 30 days my clothes are much looser.

I am doing a ton of exercise - 10k steps a day and 1 hour at the gym everyday except Tues. and Sun.

Now that I have the exercise down pat I'm focusing more on the food.

It seems weird that my clothes can feel so different but the number on the scale isn't that different.

I lost 5 pounds really quickly and then boom nothing.

I'm going to keep at it and hopefully it will show up soon.

I don't get on the scale often because I get discouraged when the number is the one I want.

I was hoping to be in the 180's by Thanksgiving but it keeps going up and down between 192 and 194. Instead of steadily going down.

So I am trying with all my might not to be affected by "that number" and be happy with the physical changes that are very evident. Will keep on plugging away and be pleasantly surprised when the number is the one I'm working for.

Have you experienced this too?

It's pretty typical to have a good chunk come off quickly and then slow down. 5 Lbs in a month is a good pace...from here on out, you can expect weeks with no loss, small loss, bigger loss, gain, etc. It's not a linear process and you have to look at trends over months. Losing weight looks like this on a graph...

Also, if you don't think 5 Lbs of fat is a lot, this is what it looks like...

So yes, depending on how much you have to lose, 5 Lbs can make a big difference in the way clothes fit.
