Bloated stomach

Hi,
So my diet is really good. I drink atleast 2 litres of water a day and am slowly replacing my normal tea/coffee with green or mint tea. Yet my stomach is permanently bloated. In the last few months I have had the copper coil fitted ever since then I look pregnant and feel bloated and heavy. Any tips of getting rid of water weight/ anyone else have this issue with the coil.? Really debating on having it removed if I can’t get rid of the bloating.

Is it possible that you have an allergy to copper?1

Not sure there’s something called copper toxicity but there’s not an awful lot I can find online. It’s convenient for me as I don’t want children yet but I can’t cope with looking pregnant when I’m not! The thought of the pain of taking it out only a few months in fills me with dread!! Haha just wondered if it’s me just holding water and how to get rid
No dietary changes I try to get enough fibre and all the gut health stuff.1 -
I'm not familiar with the copper coil but could this be a hormonal response causing temporary water retention? You said it's been a few months so I guess it's pretty unlikely that it's still just water retention...1

From what I've read, the typical bloating usually goes away within a week but not for everyone. Plus, copper toxicity can cause bloating too. I would call the doctor's office and discuss it with them.2

There are quite a few things that can cause bloating. You'll just have to try find out what it is. I'd recommend starting with sugar and carbs. They are one of the main things that cause bloat. Going low-carb involves cutting out grains, legumes, pasta, rice, bread, cereal, starchy vegetables, high sugar fruits, etc... There are low-carb and keto discussion boards here for advice. You'll lose a lot of water weight the first week or two.
Other things to consider are things like dairy, nuts, soy, gluten(low-carb is pretty much gluten free). You could have a slight allergy to one or more. I personally bloat from soy, but I enjoy soy sauce so I make sure I don't have plans to go out within 24hrs after having it.
Some also get irritation from cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.
Other than that though, it could very well be the coil. We aren't doctors here so I'd suggest talking to your doctor about it also.9 -
dont give up on the copper. it will take a while b4 you feel normal again...there's lots of issues the first 6 months or so...but the all go away. trust me....its worth it. wait it out

I also recommend discussing this with your GYN.4
