i'm thankful for...
alright then, its thanksgiving this week and we're all "family" in a way, however estranged some of us may be-
so you need to bring it in and tell us what you're thankful for.
doesn't matter what its for either- could be a person, could be the time off work if you got it, could be the good food, maybe just the football game;
whatever it is you're thankful for this week, get on in here and let it out.
EDITORS NOTE
imo, we already got like a million "vague" threads or variations of it, so don't be snarky or throw shade towards other users for no good reason with your "thanks"; you wanna do that, you go on in the vague thread and let it out.
idc if every single person in this thread is just thankful for "good food" or "family"- those are awesome things to have in your life so don't be rude to people if they're happy for something so simple. otherwise you can go sit at the kid's table.
let this thread stand as a testament that we can actually be happy people on occasion who appreciate things.

I'm thankful for my kids. They both are bright and kind. Respectful and helpful. They aren't always perfect at home by any means but out in public or with family/friends they are angels.
I am thankful for really good friends here and at home in my everyday life. There are days that I really don't know what I would do with out them. Probably change my name and move to Italy.6 -

I'm thankful for so much...
To start with my 3 amazing boys...they keep me laughing and I'm amazed at how kind and loving they are.4 -
Specific to MFP:
People here understand me. They know that i like to be teased and provoked. They get my sense of humor. They mentally and intellectually stimulate me. They occasionally force me out of my sarcastic shell and make me think about things I’m thankful for.
I’ve only been here a year and a half but i feel like I’ve got lifelong friends here.11 -
I am so very thankful for my health among a million other blessings. In my family alone, I've seen the cancer battles, the limb amputations due to diabetes, the heart diseases, the intestinal ruptures etc. etc.. I'm so grateful to have my health so that I can work and be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner for my family that I adore.7

Hahahaha! I can live with Bianca.3 -
I'm alive, breathing, and all here mentally. I have a family, and the same applies to them. I have friends, and they are special people. In a lot of senses, I'm privileged, and I'm aware of it. I'm not bad off, and in full control of my life.
There's coldness in this world, and malice, and stupidity, but also so much good and warmth and I am grateful for that even though the first thing I see is usually, sadly, the empty half. Workin' on it.
And then there's hot coffee, and chocolate, and mulled wine, and fluffy blankets. And all the creativity! Great movies, great books, great music. They're all here, a part of this world - all of the contributions of humanity past, and I just have extend my arm and take my pick.4 -
Being able to exercise everyday, the previous week!3

I am in a weird place in life. Like, really not a great place and I've seen a lot of friends that are in similar stuations go to some dark places when like this. But I am thankful for that something down deep in me that is still fighting and trying to be a better man, a better Dad, a better person. I can't believe it is there sometimes, but I am happy for that bit of light.
And thankful for being a wicked good fucntional drinker, and pizza...10 -

to be pretty healthy.
to be able to get out for my trip this week and clear my head.
for the food im gonna cook when i get back.
aside from "this week" though, im thankful for getting closer to inner peace.
its like you go through life and you end up with all these strings attached to you.
sometimes those strings will hold you up, but sometimes they'll end up strangling you at the same time.
you just gotta figure out which ones to cut, and i feel like i've finally done that this year in a lot of ways.11
