I have been of FP now for several months everyday but not tracking the way I should. I love reading everyone's comments and hoping that something will just click for me to do what I know I need to do. I've now gained another 5 lbs since when I first started. This has got to stop!. I'm hoping with me writing this down will somehow get me started into a healthier lifestyle. I have lost weight before several times and I've put it back on. I know what I need to do, I just need to do it! Thanks for reading and any positive responses are welcomed.

    One step at a time.

Set MFP up for a reasonable weight loss per week. Then weigh and measure EVERYTHING you eat and log it for one week, don't change anything just look at what you are actually eating. You can then see how many calories you are over the goal MFP has given you. Then you can start making small changes until you find the foods that hit your calorie goal and the foods that fill you up.

This is a great place to help you make the best changes for your new lifestyle.

That's a great video, thanks so much for sharing! It was very insightful and motivating.

I, too, struggle as a serial starter. My mind always plays out the same old script: "I'll start on Monday," or "last bag of chips before I'm strict with myself," or "I'll walk tomorrow!" I have also gained weight since first signing up for MFP, and everyday is a struggle. But I realize now that every day is a choice.

It's funny how I've given this exact same piece of advice to a friend (about a new relationship she was starting), but I never thought to apply it to my relationship with food, exercise, and my mental well-being. Each day is a choice, and each day I am allowed to change my mind if I want/need to. If I need to eat at maintenance instead of at a deficit, it's a choice to forgive myself instead of beating myself up, thereby making myself feel awful. Beating myself up, in turn, leads to more eating but if I embrace it and allow forgiveness, then I feel that much more motivated to do well and pick up where I left off.

Thank you, @pmoran525 for opening up and confessing. It's allowed me voice some of my own thoughts out loud and to have an "ah-ha" moment. I hope it resonates with you and I hope you keep on keeping on! I've sent you a request. I'd love to cheer you on and watch your success unfold.

Anyone else struggling out there, feel free to add me. I could use more accountability, but I also like to offer encouragement!
