Good afternoon,
I joined up 3 weeks ago, as I needed a place to log my meals/food. I'm a type 2 diabetic; have been for almost half of my life, and am finally in a place where I am ready to change.

I've never been good at checking my sugars, as I can't stand carrying a bulky glucometer with me everywhere I go. As a male, I don't have any place to put it, and those things just don't fit in our pockets. This September, by doctor recommended the Freestyle Libre (continuous glucose monitoring), and it has been life changing. I am now completely aware of where my sugars are at all times, and have adjusted my diet accordingly. Since 9/11, I have dropped nearly 20 lb, with about another 40 or so to go. I haven't started exercising yet, my kids have had a very active fall sports season. Now that their season is over, I am looking into starting a work out routine.

I'm looking for some better meal choices, exercise routines, and just general support if possible.

Thanks for taking a look.

Mark

    Hi!
I'm on day 3 of my Freestyle Libre 14 Day system, and so far, it has completely changed the way I control my numbers. OMG, I wish I would've had this years ago. I'm type 2 and on insulin along with 2 other pills, but my hopes are to get off of insulin now. Baby steps, but I'm definitely on the right path... Good Luck!!!

After 1 month using the Libre, but doctor pulled the numbers and told me that if I keep it up, I could be medication free in 6 months. I've slowly been weening off of everything..

If I can do it, anyone can - FOR SURE !!
