My intake calorie per day is 1200. Can I eat chips, cookies, soda, etc. as long as I dokt exceed and still see a difference in my body or do I have to cut down on all the fatty foods?

You can eat whatever you want and still lose weight as long as you are within your calorie goal. However, if you use a lot of your calories on things like sweets and chips, you might not feel full or get proper nutrition.2 -

^ This, exactly.
It's a good idea for a lot of reasons to eat a reasonably balanced/nutritious diet, but speaking strictly in terms of weight loss, calories are all that matter.1 -
