Building muscle at home to start. Would it be best to start with a x 3 a week program and increase when I've gained strength

    3x per week is great, you didn't mention the program but I would recommend a full body 3x per week to get the most out of each session. After a certain time, could be 6 months to a few years, some people will move on to an upper lower split or something similar. I actually stayed with full body for many years, continued to progress and enjoyed it.
