rest days?

how important are rest days? are they vital or should I excercise everyday?

    very important. your body needs a break.

    Of course, a rest day can be active, incorporating light stretching or walking, but listen to what your body is telling you.

    It depends on the type of exercise you're doing, the intensity and the duration.

    If you're walking and biking (or other low impact, lower intensity activities) you can do this 7 days a week, 365 days a year. On the other hand if you're running and/or weight lifting (both trigger a considerable adaptive response) recovery days are required.

    Rest days are very important. But if you want, you can make those days active rest days by taking walks or doing yoga.

    Well said........I do Yoga & bit breathing exercise (this is also a part of yoga though) on almost every Sunday, may be odd 25-30 minutes or so, feel relaxed :)
