Anyone else stuck with a toddler that just won't sleep? What do you do? My lil guy acts very tired but keeps shaking himself awake. He has the same bedtime every night!

My experience with my dd's sleep issues that started about 2 years old and continued throughout her childhood.
Stick to a strict waking and bed time routine. Have a routine transitional activity at bedtime (30 minutes to 1 hour) that is not too interesting. Maybe read the same book every night or listen to the same soothing music.
You might need to adjust activity during the day or eliminate napping. Spend time together earlier in the day/evening.
If he wakes repeatedly try to keep your interactions with him brief and boring.
A white noise machine/app might help.
    A night light might help.
If you don't see any results maybe talk to his doctor.

Ya I stopped letting him nap it seemed to help
  • melatonin. My wife and I found that when the kids aren't falling asleep at night that we can give them melatonin drops right before bed for a few days and it gets them back into a good routine at night time. They have drops for kids.

I do feel your pain! I agree with melatonin and with your doctor's approval.

My son had just got the dx of autism and so a lot of his issues with sleep had to do.with that. From the years of two to four I would cry when night came upon us, knowing here we go again...for some reason every night he'd wake up between 1 am to 3 am til 6 or 7 am no matter what time he's go down, no naps, naps, melatonin no melatonin...it was like I was the walking dead I even tried sleeping his hours but my body didn't follow through.

I was in a bad place because of sleep deprivation and so worried about him but little by little he grew out of it....the first real sleep he got all night no waking I woke up thinking the worst!!!😮....but whew I'm glad those days are gone and I'm not helping you much...you have ALL my sympathies!!!🤗

Every once in awhile we still have a bad night or so....like I'm sure tonight because every mom knows...once you say something doesn't happen anymore you betcha it will right after your proclamation!😋😘

    Hugs and understanding honey❤

If anyone is struggling with this I found our solution he was falling asleep in his high chair then waking up hungry

i know i don't sleep well if hungry - so maybe a snack before bedtime will help (I do this as an adult)
