NSV - Avoiding the Dressing Room Blues

So, I went to Target today hoping to find new sports bras and workout gear...only to be reminded that I am now officially wearing XXXL clothing, not XL or XXL...which means that at this point in time, I cannot wear the cute Target workout clothes I used to wear. I grabbed a few things, headed to the dressing room and was confronted with the reality that I, in fact, have gained much more weight than I care to admit. My clothing size has grown along with my weight.
Now, I had two options...leave the dressing room pissed off and head to McDonalds for a McKiller meal and wallow in self pity...
-OR-
Accept the fact that I have a loooonnnggg way to go before I ever reach my goal, accept the fact that I am this size, and use this moment as an opportunity to reflect and grow. Oh, and to work that much harder next week and the months to follow.
I chose the latter.
So, I put the clothing back on the rack, grabbed hubby and our baby and headed to Chic Fil A where I enjoyed a low cal/low fat Asian Grilled Chicken salad, fruit cup, and water for lunch (we needed to eat lunch and that was the healthiest option). I patted myself on the back for taking control of my feelings and the fact that I did over 60 minutes of cardio and strength training this morning.
No one said this journey was going to be easy and Lord knows I've had my fair share of start and stops. But today was a pretty big moment. A really good NSV.
Hang in there people...I hear it gets better. =-)
