Can flaxseed cause skin breakouts?

I have been doing green smoothies for about 2 - 3 weeks now and up until this past week my skin felt amazing, it was soft and smooth. I added a few new things such as milled flax seed and one day I had a grapefruit in it (gross and won't happen again). However, I've noticed in the past few days my skin has been very bumped on the face and just gross feeling, not smooth at all! I have not developed a rash anywhere on the body just bumps on the face and most can't see them but I can certainly feel them!
At first I thought it was because it's been hot out and when I exercise my face sweats so I was assuming it was due to the excessive heat and sweat but I've kind of ruled that out as it's summer and I've been exercising all summer without that problem.
It's that time of the month for me but I have pretty good skin and only have an occasional breakout during that time perhaps every other month or so - generally decent skin and definitely no severe acne by any means.
I'm wondering if it's something I'm putting in the smoothie that perhaps I'm allergic to and would that cause my face only to break out? As I said, the only really new thing in my smoothies is the milled flax seed and up until this time I don't think I've ever purchased it before. I am going to stop using it for a week or so and see for myself but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue with flax seed?
The bumps appear mostly under the nose and above the lip and some on the chin and a little unevenness on the cheek but mostly around the mouth - I have heard that's a hormonal location for breakouts.
I've read some stuff online that said you could have an allergy but the way it's described on those sites that's not what it appears as. I don't have a rash just bumps. I bought the flax seed on Tuesday and this is currently Saturday - so I haven't even taken it a week. Would that be enough time to develop bumps on the skin or should that have happened several days ago if it was from the flax seed?
Thanks in advance! Yes, I know that different foods affect individuals differently and that perhaps it's just something I'm not tolerating well but I was curious if anyone had any input.

Did you ever find anything out. I have had a similar problem with flax seed. I get bumps too. I'm a picker and thought it was acne but the bumps do not have anything squeeze out (sorry TMI?). They start on my face usually near my hairline and move down my cheek bone. They spread through my scalp down my neck and even arms and back. When I stop the flax they slowly go away. So many health foods and supplements now contain flax and I can't consume any of them. I would love to hear from you if you have learned anything new about this. My doctors are dumbfounded.0
