Sepsis Support and Thanks

All My Fitness Pals,
I wanted to take time, tonight, to say a word of thanks for the messages expressing concern over my recent, sudden absence from MFP. Being that this is a site that is dedicated, not only to weight loss and muscle building, but also to overall fitness and health, I felt that I should give a brief description of what I've just experienced. On September 16th, after experiencing a period of wasting, strength loss, and later, a few weeks of just not feeling well, I suddenly collapsed from what we note know was Severe Systemic Sepsis. Now, after being in a coma for 4 days, followed by 9 weeks of hospitalization, including therapy to relearn how to do everything from walking to talking, I've returned to the outside world. I'm told that I'm now in for 12 to 18 months of hard work, before I'm really fully back, but I look at it this way... Now I'm REALLY going to be able to test my theories on Muscle Memory and Rebuilding. As the attached pictures show, I lost an additional 37 pounds of muscle mass, over that 10 week period, that truly took me down to a sadly wasted point. SO, I have announced to my PT Clients that I will be retiring from Personal Training for awhile to focus on getting yours truly back into shape. It's going to be a long haul, but a mountain that I will enjoy climbing, one step at a time, to reach what awaits on the other side. And, as you all know, I love NOTHING more than a good challenge! So I have been granted permission to begin my own reset training, as of January 1. Until then, I'll be working hard to put together my theories from my recent studies on "Disease Induced Muscle Wasting." It will be the ultimate Self Study and Lab. Look for regular weekly updates, in addition to my regular daily MFP Posts. So until then, Have a Very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, or what ever your faith celebrates; as well as, a Happy New Year! And, as always...
