Meal preppers - labels?

How do you keep track of what's what in your freezer? I often portion out into things like Take-Alongs:
While I try to manage equal portions when I prep, sometimes the last one is either a little bigger or a little smaller than the rest, so it'd be good (for logging purposes later on) to be able to tell whether it's 4 oz or 6 oz, or 1 serving or 1.2 servings. I could write on the containers in Sharpie but I'd prefer not to because I re-use them.
Suggestions?

Canning labels work and wash off easily when you're done with them.0

I use blue painters tape or masking tape.2

Wow, I'm the first to mention Freezer Tape. It's under $3 at Walmart.

Oo, I like that freezer tape is designed to stay sticky when it's cold - I've tried masking tape before and sometimes it peels up. How well does it work on plastic?
Thanks so much for the ideas, everyone! I really appreciate it0 -
I use china marker on the plastic lids of my many (many!) tempered glass (Pyrex, Anchor) dishes I freeze things in.
The marks come off in hot water/dish soap, mostly; but if they don't, a little dish soap and baking soda rubbed over it will do the trick. I prefer methods that have a minimum of disposable material, maximum reusable.0 -

I mostly use it on plastic - works great on ziplock bags and containers like in the OP0 -

I settled on standard measurements so that I don’t have to guess or label.
Meat -4oz
Beans or rice (depends on mood) - 8 ounces.
I only cook chicken or pork , and like them both so don’t really care which I pull out to eat. (Being single I realize gives me advantages)
Veggies I don’t portion ahead of time; mostly they are already frozen and I eat 1/2 bag at a time.
