Hi! Should I start lifting weights?

Hi! I’m new and need advice + friends
I’m a vegetarian from Germany. I’m starting my fitness journey on this app today. I have tried several things but never reached my “dream body”. I’m currently about 58 kg heavy, 166cm tall - I don’t care about my weight - I want to feel and look the way I want to. “Lean” I want to reduce my body fat as much as possible. Should I start lifting weights?

short answer - yes.
have a read through of this thread - so you want to start lifting
Best to start with compound or whole body lifts, and follow a specific programme. Remember to have rest days, as that is when the muscle rebuilds.
Don't forget the diet element - you can lift as many weights as you like but if you are not paying attention to your diet it won't help. The 'Stronglifts' books have a good explanation of what and how much you should be eating.2 -
Yes! Lifting is great. Do work with someone who can help you determine the right combination of exercises or develop a program for you. It’s also important to learn and maintain the right form. I started lifting but once I began working with a real trainer I realized how ineffective my work was without proper form and a program.
