Hi! Should I start lifting weights?

Hi! I’m new and need advice + friends :) I’m a vegetarian from Germany. I’m starting my fitness journey on this app today. I have tried several things but never reached my “dream body”. I’m currently about 58 kg heavy, 166cm tall - I don’t care about my weight - I want to feel and look the way I want to. “Lean” I want to reduce my body fat as much as possible. Should I start lifting weights?
Thank you :)

    short answer - yes.

have a read through of this thread - so you want to start lifting

Best to start with compound or whole body lifts, and follow a specific programme. Remember to have rest days, as that is when the muscle rebuilds.

Don't forget the diet element - you can lift as many weights as you like but if you are not paying attention to your diet it won't help. The 'Stronglifts' books have a good explanation of what and how much you should be eating.

Yes! Lifting is great. Do work with someone who can help you determine the right combination of exercises or develop a program for you. It’s also important to learn and maintain the right form. I started lifting but once I began working with a real trainer I realized how ineffective my work was without proper form and a program.

Best of luck to you! Don't give up!

Most everyone should lift weights at some capacity. It does wonders for every part of your life.
