Calorie question

I've been here on and off for 2 years. Lost 40 lbs, gained 20 back. So now i'm trying to take a slower, more realistic approach to losing weight. My goal right now is to get at least 10,000 steps a day. Would this be considered as lightly active? I set my diary up to lose 2 lbs a week with the lightly active setting and it sets me at 1740 calories. This seems like a crap ton! I'm 5'6 and 264 lbs.

Thanks!

With your stats and 10K steps, that's not really a ton of calories.

really? ok great. So you would consider getting 10,000 steps a day as lightly active

    Yes...sedentary is 0-5,000 steps.

i'll stick with this for 4-6 weeks and see how it goes. Then adjust accordingly. Thanks for your input!

Sounds like you've got it figured out. I just came to say I'd consider 10k steps a day in the "active" category

I think right now i'll stick with the lightly active setting, just too scared to go up in calories anymore. Try this for awhile, and if i find that im still hungry most of the time, i'll bump it up. I need to get back to weighing and measuring food more consistently too!

Those numbers look quite reasonable to me and you seem to have a good plan for moving forward so I just wanted to wish you the best for this new chapter in your life. Remember it is a lifelong journey and not a sprint.

@Lillymoo01 Thank you! I tend to want to lose it really fast, so i think i restict too much. And then i beat myself up for gaining so much back. But that doesn't help at all. So just trying to focus on moving forward, slow and steady wins the race!
