Hello: I'm Bonnie and I am 55 years old. I've been down this road before. I am an emotional eater and I want stop this. My heaviest weight was 251.... (260 a while ago, but we wont' discuss that;-D) My goal is approx 130-150, baby steps. I refuse to look at this as a whole, instead I am going to look in increments of 10s, 5 if need be.

I knew that I was heavy but it wasn't until I saw a video of myself, I had to ask my daughter if I was really this large , I asked her twice......The consensuses was yes. She also called me (not in a mean manner) morbidly obese. Ouch. The reality slap that I needed.

I am no longer taking no for an answer. I beat cancer, been through chemo, radiation and other surgeries, I can do this. My thyroid isn't the best and I am on 2 medications that cause weight gain, again, on this note, I KNOW that I can still lose this weight. I may have to modify aspects but I am game.

Right now my food diary is private, it will be for a while......I am up (do I sound hip, up;-D) for meeting new friends of my (approximately) age. Serious inquires only.

Thank You

Hi, Bonnie - I'm also a cancer survivor (stage III breast cancer). I came to MFP at age 59, managed to lose 50 pounds, and am still at a healthy weight about 3 years later (5'5", mid 130s). You can do this! :)

    Best wishes!
