I knew it was time to look at the scale this morning and I knew I wouldn't like what it was telling me. I've been trying (or at least telling myself I'm trying) to keep my weight around 145, but in reality would like to be 135. I knew I was doing a crap job and gaining weight, but I didn't know I was already up to 150!! So its time to get serious and get a move on and would like some friends to do it with! I find 145 dealable, but I'm not really happy with it. This is the first time for me to reach out for weight loss friends like this.
I don't have a particularly unusual story. I'm an almost 27 year old wife and a mom of a 2.5 year old little girl. She is very busy and wants to be outside all the time, so I have that going for me. I work full time and sit around all day at a computer. After all the running around to get the kiddo to daycare, get myself to work, and get home I'm pretty darn tired. I went on vacation last month, gained 2 lbs there, and have been packing on the other 3 lbs here and there.
I actually love physical activity. I gained about 25 lbs (130 - 155) a year before my daughter was born from an insanely busy last semester of college with too much take away and not enough exercise. I lost about 10-15, but never lost the whole thing. After gaining all that weight I vowed I would never be 155 again, and here I am inching up there.
We're also thinking about trying to become pregnant again and maybe starting in the next month or two. So I'd like to lose 10 lbs in the next two months.
Goals:
1. Consistently track my calories.
2. Pack my own lunches instead of the cafeteria food so I know the exact calorie content.
3. Get back into meal prep on the weekends. I did soooo much better when I was doing some meal prep on the weekends.
4. Get back into the habit of waking up at 5am during the workweek. 3 days a week for exercise before everyone else is up, and 2 days to give myself some much needed time to myself!
5. Get outside with my daughter at least 5 days a week. 3 days of those can be the pool or just walking around the neighborhood, the rest should be something a bit more like going to the park. We already mostly do this, so this should be the easiest.
Looking for some friends with similar goals, different goals, anything! I would love to talk to some other working moms as well!
