Hello from a down south

I've finally decided to introduce myself, after 6 months of using MFP.
My name is Sheena. I'm a 29 year old southern girl married to my best friend. When I met my husband in 2005 I was lively energetic size 6 (approx 160's -170's). Over the past 8 years I have suffered the dreaded "marital spread". My husband and I had indulged in way too much of my home cooking, too many lazy weekends having Netflix marathons, and little to no exercise. My husband went from a down right boney 165lbs (at 6') to a still slim 185lbs. I on the other hand, went from the 160-170s to my highest weight 230lb. A whopping 70lbs. Because I am extremely tall at 6'1", I carried the weight well. People always underestimated both my weight and size. But no matter what the world saw, inside I hated my appearance and was losing confidence by the day. And at a tight size 16, clothes shopping, had become a nightmare.
So on Thursday, March 21st 2013, after countless failed attempts and losing the same 10lbs for the past 8 years, I got serious and started tracking with MFP. And in less than 5 months I've lost 39lbs and am wearing juniors size 10s and 12s. I feel comfortable in my own skin again and I am NEVER going back.
My goal for now is size 8 and improved overall fitness. I am starting to train for a 5K today!
