Hi everyone... need some advice on activity level setting - I work a desk job but am up and down all day around the office, take stairs standing desk etc... and I walk approx 30min 2x a day with my dog morning and evening (brisk pace). I don’t log my walks as exercise, instead I have put my level of exercise to “lightly active” hoping this will balance out. Anyone else done this and any advice on whether this is a good idea or not?

Honestly it sounds like you are both lightly active and should log your walks as exercise.

This is what someone suggested a few years back I'm not sure it's been updated so I think it's safe to post this if not someone correct me please...

I have categorized myself as sedentary because I sit for a living. Yesterday, a non-workout day, I wore my Garmin all day and noticed I got a calories expended adjustment because my activity was greater than sedentary.

I may wear it more often to heighten my awareness. I get a big kick out of the warning message it gives to MOVE if I’ve been sitting to long. I got 3 messages yesterday during a 3-hour drive.

While you might be a little low, and maybe you need to be set as active, try it with these settings for 6 weeks or so and see how the weight loss goes. Lose weight faster than expected then up you level.
