I do drink a smoothie sometimes in the morning for breakfast that is about 380 calories
Wait a minute... this "cleanse" requires an $80 cookbook? Oh my
I have some really good green smoothie recipes I'll sell you

Oh. I guess I don't have any of those0 -
This is the kind of thread where I'd really love to see a response from the OP indicating whether the overwhelming advice of many experienced users has had any effect on them.
My guess - based on previous threads of this same nature - is she's likely currently 'otherwise occupied.' I could be wrong, butt...9 -
I will give my standard advice I give to people who feel like they need a way to "kickstart" weight loss since everyone else has covered the idea of "detoxing".
I understand the need some people have to mark the beginning of their weight loss. A caution here, though, is to not make too much of this ceremony, because weight management is an ongoing, life-long proposition.
Saying that, if you still feel like you want to mark the first step on the road to a new you with something special, here are some ideas:
1. Start a pinterest board and browse around for recipes that appeal to you.
2. Make a list of vegetables you've never tried. Try a new one each week, add browsing for ways to prepare them to your pinterest board.
3. If the idea interests you, look into the idea of meal prepping. There are lots of sites and blogs dedicated to this.
4. If meal prepping really appeals to you, buy some nice new containers for it.
5. Read the forum stickies here on MFP to learn as much as you can about the process so you're fully informed
6. Think about fitness ideas if that is something new to you. What will be fun for you? Classes? DVD's? A gym?
7. Buy a food scale
8. Start where you're at now, with what you're eating, and log your food. Keep notes. What keeps you full, what leaves you feeling hungry soon after? Where can you cut some excess calories? Learn from that.8 -

Do a cleanse if you want to - it is your body - but it won’t be sustainable and might make you feel weak / lead to a binge.
Ya, last time I was sick I lost 10 pounds but found them again shortly after I started eating solid foods again.1 -
I drink a green smoothie every day and they don't kick-start anything, just an easy way to get in some veggies and fruit. Also, they can be calorie bombs depending on what you put in them-I can easily put together a 500 calorie smoothie.
Oh, sure, I stopped making my peanut butter and banana smoothies after I got a food scale and learned how small 2 T of peanut butter really were.3
