Why does the system keep blocking a friend?

Hi,
Has anyone had an issue with a friend getting blocked without either one of you requesting that?
My husband and I are new to the site (one month), and we share each other's food diary etc. (Easier for recipes).
However, the system keeps making his profile or mine private, every other day, without each other requesting it.
We have to send new friend requests to each other about 3x a week, so we can share our food diary for dinner.

Anyone encountered something similar?
Any suggestions?

(None of our settings are private...they're all...Friends Only.)

    Yep. I have a friend and I cannot see his wall at all. He can see my posts in his feed but he cannot go to my wall either. He seems to be the only one though and we can't figure out why. I think I'm going to unfriend him and request him again.
