Best shoes for the gym?

I have memory foam shoes for the moment but they hurt me, any suggestions?

I bought mine at The Walking Company. They customize your shoes. They are amazing shoes, but pricey, yet soooo worth it!0

Depends on your workout—I have New Balance running shoes for running/cardio and Merrell barefoot shoes for lifting.0

You need to tell people what you are doing at the gym OP.
For example when I'm cycling in the gym I wear rigid sole and cleated cycling shoes but they would be awful when I'm doing strength training.0 -
I have back problems (I've had them since I was younger due to an injury but 11 months ago had surgery on it) and I have found that Sketchers memory foam with coal gel are the top for me. I can't wear anything else if I do so much as even plan on taking a walk0
