One of my go to snacks is apple sauce - homemade. As an acquaintance and I were saying this morning - it's really easy and really inexpensive.

Dinner wise - if I am not sure what I want to eat and it's clear I need to go grocery shopping, my go to is chicken thighs. Bone in skin on typically get roasted. Boneless skinless get braised, used in curries of all kinds (Thai, Indian, Japanese, etc), used in stir fry, etc. I very very rarely cook chicken breast. I'll also buy root vegetables, brussels sprouts, and/or asparagus for roasting if I've decided I really need to eat more vegetables. Winter squashes are also pretty versatile.

Snacks: turkey jerky, honey crisp apple, string cheese, low fat Greek yogurt.

Favorite dinner: baked boneless skinless chicken breast with oven roasted veggies.

Get fresh seafood. Can't beat it in quality and satisfaction. Shrimp have 7 calories each. A trout filet has 1.5 cal/gram. Even cooked salmon, one of the fattiest fish has less than 2 cal/gram cooked.
