No exercise just calorie counting

Hello Everyone, I'm 35 with over 100lbs to lose. I am unable to exercise currently due to severe back pain and sciatica. I am hoping to not gain weight and to lose weight while I am unable to walk. Support needed to ensure I am doing the right things. Any exercise tips that can be done sitting without affecting the back. Also I'm looking for a support network in regards to continuing on my weight loss journey. 100lbs is my initial goal but mini steps first - 1lb at a time.

Hi!! By any chance, have you looked into a recumbent bike? My best friend is using one as she has similar issues to what you are describing.

If you have a pool availsble, you might look into whether there is something you could start doing there. The reduction in weight bearing in the water is often kind to the body and there are a variety of movements you can do, depending on what is comfortable.

Go to the "Getting Started" board. The very first pinned thread is "Adopt a Noob" (entry to paired threads for linking potential mentors and mentees). Read the opening post on how to contact a potential mentor, then take a look at the mentor profiles . When you find a good match of description of what one is offering vs what you are able to do, follow the guidelines to make contact.

Some specifically mention that they have started from high initial weight points or come back from / cope with specific physical limitations.

(BTW, I am NOT in the Mentor program, so don't look for me ... but I have made it a bit of a mission to point people who are just starting towards this resource)
