Exercise steps for cardio and elliptical

Hi all my Fitbit is attached to my fitness pal so it gives me extra calories for my steps. Does that mean I should/shouldn’t also enter in my minutes for elliptical since it’s already counting my steps, correct? I don’t want to think I have addl calories to when I really don’t
