Momma input needed

This might be an odd thread, buuuut here we go!

What are some things you were thankful for after having your baby to help you lose the weight and stay on course?

Anything you registered for or wish you’d registered for?

I’ve maintained (and actually lost a lot of weight already thanks to morning sickness) my weight and held a healthy, clean diet and activity level so far through this pregnancy. After my son, five years ago, I didn’t do much to lose the weight for a couple years. I wish, looking back, I’d done more immediately. I’ve been researching healthy lactation recipes and taking note of those options.

But are there any tips, products, etc. that you were particularly thankful for?

Thanks mommas!

A good stroller. I started walking at a local high school track with my son when he was 6 weeks old. Sunlight, fresh air and movement were good for both of us.

Yes! I still have my stroller from my son. Great for path walking!

I didn't really lose weight or worry about it after my dd was born but we did use our stroller a lot.
I would have liked a sling wrap carrier I think.

What I needed most was sleep. Lack of sleep led me to eat more. I don't know that anyone could have given me that though but I wish I had tried to get more sleep and let cleaning go or whatever.

Yes, I remember getting absolutely no sleep. I definitely didn’t listen to the advice of “when baby’s asleep, you sleep.” When baby slept during the day i was doin housework and whatnot. And this round, having a five year old, I don’t see that happening regardless.

I definitely want to invest in a carrier! There are so many out there to choose from it’s ridonk.

I made a crap ton of different types of casseroles and put them in the freezer, while I was still pregnant. Was very handy when I was too tired to even think.

The chest carrier - I don't remember what brand I had, but that was my favorite for walking and I started walking immediately after going home.

Medela breast pump - so nice for being able to control feeding availability and being able to pump before doing a workout was downright magical because those giant boobs are no fun to workout around.

My sister had some mommy/baby workout videos that she loved since it was kind of play time for the baby but also a decent workout for her, but I just went straight back to my normal routine.

That right there was my #1 favorite thing with baby #2 & 3. I rarely used a stroller. WAY too bulky. It was so easy with a sling to just put them in the front, side, back...wherever it worked best for what you were doing. I'd even cook dinner with him slung around the back. I always sew one as a baby gift.

Yas! Absolutely doin’ the breast pump option this round. Medela is the name I keep seeing pop up as far as recommendations go too. Thanks!

*gasp* Yas!! I saw a blog on making 30 freezer meals/a month of dinners for $150 using Aldi (love that store...!!) I’m absolutely doing this. I already recruited my mom to come help me on a Sunday before baby comes to do this. I remember eating out or eating crap for the first month. Not doin that again..!

They are. Maybe 30min tops and I am not a seamstress. I like just the simple pouch sling, but here's links to all kinds of sling tutorials.
