Question about running shoes

About a year ago, I sprained my right foot and ankle. It healed up in a few weeks, but ever since then, all my shoes are much tighter on my right foot than my left. As if it has some permanent swelling. Looking at my feet, they look the same, but this happens with ALL shoes.

I want to start the couch25k program in January, so I am going to a running store to get shoes after Christmas. I don't know if I should get like half a size bigger for my right foot, or just loosen the laces a little on that foot and get the same size? Right now with my regular Nike's (not for running, just power walking) I just loosen the laces a little, but with running I don't know if it's a big difference.

talk to the guys in the running store - they will be able to help you - but different sized shoes isn't all that uncommon

Cool thanks. I didn't really notice it a problem when I was walking slow, but when I started adding incline and increasing my speed, that foot started hurting like on the top bone.

Have you had it checked out?

Sounds to me like you still may have a problem with your foot.

I did when it first happened, but not really since then. It really only hurts when I have these size shoes on, from being tighter on that foot.
