    Messages don't work if you're not friends with someone... it's been a bug for years

    I think it's hit or miss. I've occasionally gotten messages from people I'm not friends with. I've sent PM's to people not on my friends list, some respond, some don't. It could be one way to reduce the number of inappropriate pictures sent.

    I suspect you would get more response if you included your goals here. That way lurkers would read more about what you are looking for then decide to add or not. There are many people who will read the thread and never post in it.
