The best motivation for this journey will be photos of YOU, not anyone else. I began watching what I ate in July 2017, but only joined a gym in May 2018. I started out at 115kg (over 18st). I am now 83.7kg (13st 2lb), so have lost over 70lbs. My aim is to get down to 57kg during 2019 so I can start packing on muscle with a view to bodybuilding. I am 5ft 3inches. By all means send me a friend request if you want to have someone give encouragement for your journey, but the best thing to get you through your journey is YOU, and your resilience. Learning to listen to your body, how it reacts to diet and exercise and learning to ignore what people other people may say or do to try and undermine your efforts or sabotage your progress are your most powerful tools. Good luck!9

I’m 5’2” and 1/2 and 62 years old. I started in January at 173, took me almost 9 months to lose 43 pounds. (173-130). I’ve been maintaining since about the first of October, plan to get back to a deficit after the first of the year to lose a few more. Present measurements are 36/29/36, size 4. I have pics on here somewhere.

Congrats on your weight loss. You look younger than your age.
We have similar measurements, but you look much smaller than me. Your dress size is smaller too. I wonder whether my measuring tape is wrong. I'm a size 18 or so. And I look fat, though the measurements read 31-31-35

Yep, by the look of it, the measuring tape is wrong. Should have thought twice before using a tape that I got for free.1

I'm 5'2" and about 170 pounds right now. I've gained 40 pounds from 2 pregnancies. I have no idea what my measurements are, but I know I'm bigger than I've ever been! I'm still breastfeeding (4 month old) so I'm struggling trying to figure out a balance of what to eat so I don't drop my milk supply, but also so I don't gain any more weight.2

5'2.5" and 69 years old. Dropped 50 lbs. over a 15 month period and I've been in maintenance for close to 4 years now at a range of 128 - 132 lbs (58.6 - 59.8kg?). I have a medium frame and went from a size 16 USA to a size 2 Misses or a medium Petite. Agree with @lyndajbowyer about the pics. Also monitor inches lost because sometimes the scale doesn't move but you're losing inches which equals fat loss.1

Your starting point is right where I'm at and where you're at now is my goal. How long did it take. Did you do anything specific?0 -

It took me about 9 months to get to my goal weight. Once in maintenance, I had to figure out my calories and ended up losing ~10 additional lbs that I decided to not regain.
How I lost the weight: I logged everything that I ate and drank. I bought a food scale and weighed everything. I still do, in fact. I set my loss goal as .5 lb per week and ate around 1400 calories a day. (I did eat back most of my exercise calories.)
I ate and drank anything that I wanted. I just did so within my daily caloric allowance. It may not have always been easy, but it was much simpler this way. If I had an off meal or day, I got right back on the calorie counting the next meal.
Hope this helps! Keep at it, and you'll reach your goal!
Good luck!3 -

I was 5’3 118-120lb range
Now I’m at 5’3” 130-133lb range
It’s crazy, but even a 10lb weight gain and I can really feel the difference, and it’s hard to fit into some of my clothes
Trying to lose those 5-10lbs2 -
