Protein supps and running

So curious... I run about 2 to 3 marathons a year. Should I be including a protein supplement?

You don't need a protien supplement it's more for convenience if difficult to get a source of protein after a training session. The trick is to use a supplement to enhance a good balanced diet. Your first choice should always be natural or as close to real food. Then if can't get by all means use a protien supplement

How much protein do you usually eat per day?

Someone who exercises long and/or hard would often benefit from a higher than usual level of protein but that doesn't have to come from supplementing. Without knowing your current intake it's impossible to directly answer your question.

They can score on convenience and cost plus if you are losing weight they can be efficient in terms of calories.

Are you consuming in the area of of 1g of protien per lb of body weight?

If not, would you rather drink your food once or twice a day so you can hit your protien goal?

If so, yes you should be including a protien suppliment that includes 3g of leucine per serving.

I would suggest consuming 5g of creatine monohydrate daily if you are not currently.
