Step counter vs exercise

I have my gear s3 synced to MFP. I wanted know; Why does my calorie adjustment turns to 0 and my exercise is only being counted for? Why aren't both being counted?

Don't know anything about the S3 gear, but the way most fitness trackers work is that when it syncs with MFP, you only get credit for that which is above and beyond what is accounted for in your activity level. Up to around 5000 steps is usually accounted for in your activity level even set to sedentary.

For: example I have desk job but I exercise 4x a week. I currently have mine set on sedentary. So do I need to change it or keep it the same?

If you're using MFP as designed, your activity level is just your day to day and you log exercise after the fact to account for that activity rather than accounting for it in your activity level.

For me, it seems to take a few moments for the calculations to sync, but they both will count. Maybe re-sync.....it happens to me every single night as well, but does eventually calculate the day.
