Happy New Year everyone!! I am on medications that cause an increased appetite an subsequent weight gain. Unfortunately, I can’t stop them since they’re are necessary for my health. It’s so frustrating! Any thoughts on managing cravings, and possible low calorie foods that will keep me full? Thank you ~

You don't mention what the meds are for, but have you considered talking to your doctor about your issue with cravings and eating? Most medical conditions have more than one way to treat them. If it's an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication then there are lots of choices and some of them don't cause that craving and eating thing.

Again depending on the condition, maybe you could get a referral to a dietician. Certain foods will cause increased eating and cravings and you might find relief by cutting back or eliminating those foods.

I am on medication for my epilepsy, and I am on levothyroxine for my thyroid. Huge bummer. I lost about 30lbs last year doing a high protien diet, and low carb. NOT ketosis, and it was not a strict diet by any means. I just watched my bread and pasta intake, and I ate alot of protien. Examples: I had sausage for breakfast almost every morning. If we went out for a burger I had my burger without a bun. I kept carbs between 20 and 100. Usually around 50. Everyone is different and what works for their body. I really needed protien. :)
