I'm not much of a cook - so I'm looking for super easy, yummy main dishes which are under 5 ingredients. Anyone, anyone?

    I love chili <3

Ground meat (optional if you want more beans, or are a vegetarian)
    Beans
Seasoning packet (I do my own mix, but I think that would impact ingredients )
    Can of tomatoes
Bag of frozen peppers and onions

I saute it all together until the meat is almost 100% cooked, then put it on high in the crockpot for a few hours. SOO good.

Edit: Sometimes shove some extra water/broth in it if it seems to dry, then at the end I simmer it on the stove to let it reduce and thicken a bit. It can be as lean or fatty as you want varying with the ground meat (chicken, turkey, 80% beef, 95% beef, etc.)

**Forgot to mention that I don't have a crockpot/slow cooker. Maybe that's something I need to invest in. ;-)

This isnt really a "recipe" but I eat a lot of chicken. ( cooked w butter flavored no calorie cooking spray) covered. Raw 5oz chicken breasts, dash salt, pepper, and paprika to taste. Frozen normandy vegetables, steamed. And a 3-4oz baked russet potato with sour cream (2tbl sp- 60 cal) and hotsauce, dash salt/pepper to taste. It is usually a 400-600 cal meal. ( pending on sauces, if you use any)

Im going to try making a noodle dish - japanese rice noodles with a mix of chk and veggies. See how many calories that runs me.

    Totally need a crock pot.

I put several medium potatoes in mine - set on medium - ignore all day - whole pile of baked potatoes. Cool them, put in big plastic bowl in fridge. They can be cut up for potato salad, reheated for baked potatoes, diced for fried potatoes or to add to something like soup. Unlimited - and precooked - options.

I throw a whole pile of chicken in it - boneless skinless is the easiest - salt and pepper - medium - all day ignore it again - meat for the whole week. Throw it on the above potato, toss in a salad, shred with fork and add sauce for a bbq, add salsa and eat like a taco? and so forth.

Toss in a whole spaghetti squash, turn on high, done in a few hours.

Then there's the always popular roasts and soups/stews and chilis in a crock pot.

My life would NOT be the same without mine. It's like no brainer cooking. I do a lot of precooking/prepping for my week with it.
