I've been looking at different GPS and heart rate monitor watches, and they are SO expensive! Why?? I want one that will work properly, won't break after 6 months, and isn't a gazillian dollars. I'd like something that displays time, distance, pace, heart rate, and calories burned.
Anybody have suggestions as to a cheap(ish), yet reliable model?

I am a Garmin fan. Great customer service. Mine seem to suffer an unfortunate incident before they have broken. The one I have now is a second hand one that's over two years old (owned by a guy training for ironman = lots of use).
Most models of Garmin come with HRM but not every model bases the calorie estimate on HR, check the specs on their page, it shows in there.
I am pretty sure the 100 series that come with HRM does and it's pretty affordable as GPS go.0
