I was invited to a party where they will have fresh Maryland crabs. I saw the nutrition content and a serving is 3 oz. Does anyone have a good tip on how to eye ball about 3 oz. of crab meat? Obviously I can't bring my scale with me.! haha.

Try weighing things around your house to get a feels like number concept in your head.

Isn't 3oz of meat usually equal to about the size of a playing card deck? That's what I always thought. Not sure if that only applies to chicken and beef, though.

if you don't eat crabs that often, you're not going to get alot of edible meat out of one, except for the claws--don't forget you'll have to 'work' for this dinner!

Well, 3 oz. isn't much, I'll tell you that. I usually eat in 4 oz. portions of protein and it's a lot less than I thought it was. :\ 4 oz. is pretty flat (I'd estimate about 1/4 inch) and maybe 3 inches across.

I don't think that's quite right anymore. Read my description. This is from some chicken I weighed out the other day when dividing my portions for lunches this week. Quite small.
