    In the forums click on the name of the person you want to add, a box will pop up, click on their name again, then click on "Add Friend" A box will pop up and you can add a message (This is a courtesy you don't have to) then send friend request.

    If they accept it then you will see it in your news feed that you are now "Friends with xxxx"
