Hi, my name is Kellie and I have become concerned about my weight. Well, more concerned. I’ve been overweight since I was 11, but I’ve been gaining weight much faster in the past two years or so. I look back on old photos and al I can think is “Wow, I look so much thinner.”

I’m also planning on moving this year to Seoul, South Korea. It’s such an image conscious culture and I want to feel confident enough to go without worrying about my weight. I’ll also be walking everywhere and I’d like to do so without gasping like a beached fish.

I’m not going to tell my sob story or make excuses for why I’m so unhealthy. I could say it’s the night shifts or the stress or that I’ve never processed emotions outside of eating my feelings, but in reality I could have done better. I’m going into this not expecting huge change overnight, and I’m hoping that will be the difference I need.

Well, feel free to message me for salty (or maybe reduced sodium?) commentary on my life or quality puns, whatever floats your boat.

Your extremely lazy friend,
Kellie

Hey Kellie I live in SK and have for 2 years. EVERYTHING here is high in sodium, especially kimchi, so be careful about what you're eating. I'd say prepare yourself by researching the food items before you come so that you're mentally prepared for it! Sidenote: everything is delicious, damn them, so it takes a lot of mental strength to step away from the kbbq and fried chicken but you can do it!

have confidence in yourself and serious commitment. weight is not hard to change. you may want to study habit triggers and responses then objectively strategize what throws you off track and how to avoid or better respond to the triggers
